How to Identify a Faulty Pedal Switch

Typical indicators of a faulty pedal switch:

  • The vehicle starts up but fails to move when the pedal is pressed
  • The vehicle occasionally stalls or cuts out during operation
  • The vehicle responds when operated with the remote control but not with pedal
  • The vehicle starts and receives proper voltage, but it fails to move despite pressing the pedal.
  • The vehicle begins to move as soon as it is powered on without touching the pedal or remote control.

Troubleshooting a Faulty Pedal Switch: Tips to Follow

  • Test with the parental remote control:

Use the parental remote control to operate the ride-on toy. If the vehicle responds to the remote control commands but doesn’t work when using the pedal, it suggests that the pedal switch within the vehicle is likely faulty. It’s recommended to perform this test with a child sitting on the ride-on toy to simulate normal driving conditions and rule out other potential issues. Please note that this method applies specifically to troubleshooting via the parental remote.

  • Advanced testing method:

For those comfortable and experienced with wiring, there is an alternative method to test the pedal switch. Start by removing the pedal from the ride-on toy. Then, detach the wires from the pedal housing and carefully touch the two wires together. If this action activates the motors and causes movement, it confirms that the pedal switch is indeed faulty. To ensure safety during this test, it is advisable to remove the rear wheels of the vehicle, as it will remain stationary.

Note: When troubleshooting a faulty pedal switch, it’s important to exercise caution and follow these steps carefully. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with advanced wiring techniques, we recommend seeking assistance from a professional or contacting our customer support for further guidance.

How to Identify a Faulty Mainboard/Speed Controller:

Identifying a faulty Mainboard/Speed Controller in your ride-on toy is crucial for resolving performance issues. Here are some common symptoms that indicate a potential problem:

  • The vehicle powers on but doesn’t move when attempting to drive.
  • The vehicle doesn’t respond to left or right commands from the remote control.
  • The vehicle fails to pair with the parental remote.
  • It moves backward but not forward.
  • The vehicle powers on, displaying full voltage, but doesn’t move.
  • The vehicle operates correctly with the pedal but not with the parental remote.

Troubleshooting Steps for a Vehicle That Won’t Move:

  • Verify Remote Control Functionality:

Start by testing the vehicle with the remote control to ensure it responds to commands.

  • Check Battery Voltage:

Confirm that the battery has enough charge by checking its voltage. A low battery might be the cause of the issue.

  • Check Connections and Wires:

Examine all clips and connections leading to the MainBoard/Speed Controller. Ensure that no wires are loose or disconnected.

  • Steering Issues:

If the vehicle does not turn left or right, check the bolt on the steering rod for tightness. Verify that the steering motor is properly connected.

  • Pedal vs. Parental Remote:

If the vehicle works with the pedal but not the parental remote, there may be an issue with the Main Board/Speed Controller.

In case none of the above steps resolve the problem and the symptoms persist, it is likely that the MainBoard/Speed Controller is faulty and requires further attention.
